"Mater Herbarum"— the mother of all herbs...The Lady of the night, the Earth dwelling Crone.
Mugworts history in folk medicine stretches back into the ages, her uses many, her depth unquestionable... her medicine.. powerful!

Mugworts can be used for bringing on menstruation and asissting in menstrual pain. Its abilities as emmenagogue, appetite stimulant, bitter, choleretic, stomachic, anthelmintic, lend well to many conditionss relating to the gut, menstrual cycle, and digestion.

Its more subtle aspects come in the use in dream work and divination.
Being a lunar herb, its actions on the mind and psychic receptivities is where (in my experience) Mugwort shines the greatest.
Offering a strong bridge to the astral and subtle aspects of the dream scape, Mugwort is a great plant to diet, or take before bed each night if one is wishing to work within the realm of dreamtime.

Traditionally the herb has seen many other uses in Korean, Japanese and Chinese herbal medicine through a practice called "Moxibustion". The herb is well known for treating inflammation and and rheumatism.
